2006
Thomas earned his demotion to the minors after a terrible start to the year, and didn't do much at Triple-A Sacramento either. If the A's acquire another outfield bat, there's no room for Thomas on the bench.
2005
Thomas wasn't considered a great prospect before 2004 but when given the chance he made a strong impression as the left-handed part of a platoon in left field with Eli Marrero. He hit almost as well against lefties (.281 BA, .395 OBP) as right-handers (.289 BA, .364 OBP), although in far fewer at-bats, and showed outstanding speed in the outfield. He'll try to win a starting job after being traded to Oakland, but he could still be a valuable reserve as a fourth outfielder.
