2007
Tracey saw his first major league action in 2006, but only pitched in seven games, all in relief. First, Tracey was sent down after three games because he failed to hit Hank Blalock with a pitch, angering manager Ozzie Guillen. Second, he was sent down after one outing when the Sox brought in Mike MacDougal. He pitched two scoreless innings in September to close the year. As a starter in Triple-A Charlotte, he was 8-9 with a 4.30 ERA and 76 walks in 129 innings. Control will be key to the 26-year-old lengthening his stay in the big leagues.
2006
Tracey's numbers regressed in his first exposure to Double-A, not the kind of thing you want to see in a 24-year-old pitcher. He's got a great arm, but doesn't seem to have a good idea what to do with it out on the mound yet. Depending on how quickly he does, the bullpen seems like his most likely destination.
