Hannahan saw plenty of action for the Indians after opening the season as the team's starter at third base after the injury to Jason Donald and the subsequent unwillingness to turn the keys over to Lonnie Chisenhall while the team was still somewhat in contention. He hit .250 with eight homers in 110 games and earned himself a spot as a reserve infielder for this year as a result. The Indians are fully expected to hand the starting duties at the hot corner over to Chisenhall, but Hannahan would likely jump back into a starting role if Chisenhall struggles thanks in large part to his plus defensive work at the hot corner.
2010
The Mariners needed fielding help last year and called on Hannahan midseason to lend his elite glove. While he's adroit in the field, Hannahan's bat is about as non-elite as an everyday player can get. His best hope for this season is that the Mariners keep him around as a backup infielder, as he can play first base, third base and shortstop.
2009
Hannahan did his part as the cornerstone of one of the worst hitting infields in recent history, joined by Daric Barton, Mark Ellis and Bobby Crosby. The 436 at-bats are bound to be his career high, and the A's are smartly looking for other options at third base in the event that Eric Chavez hits the DL again.
2008
Hannahan was the everyday third baseman for the A's the final six weeks of the season after being acquired from the Tigers. He did decent as a fill-in, but showed little power and will likely begin the year at the back end of the A's bench unless Eric Chavez remains sidelined into the regular season.
