2010
Stevens came over in the Mark DeRosa trade last year and acquitted himself well at Triple-A, striking out 61 in 57.2 IP and walking 25, while allowing just one home run. He struggled during his major league cup of coffee, but Stevens should compete for a bullpen spot this spring and has some upside as a solid middle-relief option in NL-only leagues.
2009
Stevens followed up his dominant 2007 season with another strong effort out of the bullpen at Double-A and Triple-A last year. His command slipped a bit (27 walks in 58.1 combined innings) but the strikeouts (81) were still there. He closed out five games at Triple-A and was the U.S. Olympic team's closer in Beijing. The Indians, who have a lot of bullpen depth, traded him to Chicago in December, and Stevens will actually have a better chance of contributing with the Cubs than he did with the Indians, after the latter signed Kerry Wood.
2008
The Indians converted Stevens into a reliever on a full-time basis in 2007 and it appears to have paid off. Between stops at High-H\A and Double-A, he allowed just 58 hits and 25 walks in 83.1 innings while fanning 102. He'll ply his craft between Double-A and Triple-A in 2008, but will need to carry over his success from last year if he's to separate himself from the gaggle of other right-handed options in the Cleveland system.
