2012
Hollimon missed much of 2009 with a shoulder injury, and spent 2010 playing in the independent American Association. He'll likely add depth at Triple-A, but he could be a factor in the majors at some point with the Minnesota's weak depth in the infield.
2009
Hollimon made his major league debut last season with the Tigers despite struggling to make contact in the minors. He showed some solid power but his high strikeout rate makes him look like a reserve at best in the majors. Unfortunately, he won't get a chance to earn a bench job this spring as Holliman is expected to miss roughly half of the 2009 season after undergoing surgery to repair a torn labrum in his left shoulder in September.
2008
Holliman spent nearly all of last season at Double-A before earning a late season promotion to Triple-A Toledo. He posted solid numbers but that should be expected of a 25-year-old at Double-A. The Tigers like Holliman's versatility and could consider giving him a look in a reserve role this season should the team have a need.
