2009
Miller pitched very well at Double- and Triple-A last season. He notched 10 saves in Triple-A with a 3.09 ERA and a minuscule WHIP of 1.08. This earned Miller a September callup in which he also pitched well in 7.2 innings and notched the Orioles' only save of the month. Miller should figure into Baltimore's bullpen plans in 2008, but he is a real dark horse to see time as a closer this year. Watch his health status closely before you draft - his 2008 season ended with a shoulder injury, one that did not require surgery.
2006
Miller started 2005 at High-A Modesto, where he saved 25 games and struck out 12.84 batters per nine innings. He continued to impress at Double-A Tulsa with nine saves, 19 strikeouts, and a miniscule 0.60 ERA in 15 innings. Miller probably will start the season in the minors but has a chance to be promoted if the Rockies run into bullpen trouble.
