2007
After breezing through the minors from 2003 to 2005, Rleal was rewarded with a spot on the 2006 Opening Day bullpen without having pitched a game in the majors. Paradoxically, the right-hander was more effective against lefties due to his best pitch, a change-up. Even so, Rleal had a horrible 1.52 WHIP and 19:23 K:BB ratio in 46.2 major league innings. This earned him a mid-season demotion, and he continued to pitch horribly with a 6.65 ERA and 1.48 WHIP in 23 innings for Triple-A Ottawa. He�ll have to get back to his pre-2006 form in order to work his way back into management�s good graces.
2006
Rleal works with a 90 MPH fastball and a decent slider. He has seldom been mentioned as a top prospect in the Orioles system, but his performance track record is good and he could end up being surprisingly effective in middle relief.
