Cherry's mid-90's fastball is good enough to retire most Triple-A hitters, but so far he hasn't been able to replicate that success in the majors. His command seems to be a big issue, having walked 19 batters in his 31.1 major league innings so far. He'll compete for a spot in Baltimore's bullpen.

Cherry pitched well out of the bullpen at Double-A last season, throwing a mid-90s fastball and a sharp breaking ball. Arm injuries delayed his career, but at 27, he's got a chance to win a bullpen job out of camp or get a call-up sometime during the year. The Cubs added Cherry to the 40-man roster in November.
