2012
Adams made his major league debut in 2011 and although he managed a respectable .281 average and .333 OBP, the same power issues that have hounded him throughout the minors were there in the majors as well. He didn't manage a home run in 96 plate appearances and only hit four doubles. Don't expect that to change any time soon – in 2,193 minor league plate appearances, Adams has only hit 44 home runs. Despite the lack of power, Adams could be in the mix for time at second base depending on Brian Roberts' recovery from post-concussion symptoms.
2011
Adams developed into a bona fide prospect in 2010, spending the entire season in Double-A. He also had a good run in the Arizona Fall League, and it looks like he is going to be groomed to be a replacement for Brian Roberts some day. Look for Adams to spend a full year in Triple-A with Norfolk unless he has a monster season and Roberts struggles with injuries again. Long term, Roberts is signed through 2013, so Adams may have to wait awhile to get a chance at the starting gig.
