2012
An April grand slam ended up being the high point of his season, as a back injury eventually sent him to the 60-day DL. Unfortunately, his greatest fantasy impact came in the form of a collision at home plate that ended Buster Posey's season in May. If he's 100 percent Cousins is still a good fit as the Marlins' fourth outfielder, but any lingering back problems could also sap what little power and speed he has.
2011
Cousins is pretty good at everything without being great at anything, a skill set that would make him an exceptional bench player on a contending team. On the Marlins it gives him a great chance of winning a starting outfield spot this spring, especially if Chris Coghlan isn't up to the task in center field and heads back to the infield. Provided he gets enough at-bats Cousins should be able to supply double-digit power and speed, and maybe even an OK batting average, at a bargain fantasy price.
2010
Cousins continued to tease in 2009, as the former third-round pick added some speed to his arsenal (26-for-35 on the basepaths and 11 triples at Double-A) but at the expense of his batting average. He doesn't figure to be great at anything, but if he puts it together he could have the all-around skill set to be a useful fourth outfielder, and the Marlins still liked him enough to avoid exposing him to the Rule 5 draft.
