2009
Sadler finished last year with a 4.06 ERA and a 42:27 K:BB ratio over 44.1 innings out of the Giants’ bullpen. He allows too many baserunners, so expect a climb in ERA in 2009. With new acquisitions in San Francisco’s pen, Sadler may head back to the minors this year.
2008
Sadler followed up an impressive 2006 campaign with a horrible 2007 season, finishing with a 5.95 ERA and 1.677 WHIP over 42.1 innings at Triple-A Fresno. The 59 strikeouts were nice, but the 35 walks were a big problem. Sadler has always had the stuff to succeed, but shaky command has prevented him from being consistently successful. A change of scenery will likely be needed for him to have any chance to blossom.
2007
Sadler isn't viewed as a top prospect, but he did manage a 2.43 ERA with a 79:31 K:BB in 55.2 IP last year between Double- and Triple-A. He should figure into San Francisco's bullpen plans this year.
