2013
There was no outlook written for Brian Barton.
2009
Barton was a Rule 5 pick in 2007 and then held his own in the St. Louis outfield last year, hitting .268 in 153 at-bats. He did have some problems staying healthy, missing time with a fractured hand and strained oblique. Without the Rule 5 restrictions in place, he's not likely to spend nearly as much time in the majors this year.
2008
Barton didn't take quite the step forward the Indians had hoped for in 2007 but it was still a decent season (10 homers and 21 steals between Double-A and Triple-A). He's a decent power/speed combo guy who had been quite frankly trapped in the wrong organization as the Indians had a glut of young outfield talent. He's got the frame (6-3) to add some power to his game, while a fresh start in St. Louis after being picked up by the Cards in the Rule 5 Draft will give him a real opportunity to fulfill his potential.
2007
Offers power, speed, on-base ability, defense, and intelligence. Only age keeps him from ranking higher in our prospect rankings.
