2010
Atkins had a cup of coffee with the Cubs last year but spent most of his time being hittable at Triple-A Iowa. His K:BB numbers (122:49 in 141.1 IP) weren't too bad, but he served up a lot of hits and far too many home runs - hence the 6.37 ERA and 1.458 WHIP. He throws a low-90s fastball, a curve and a change, but he's still leaving too many pitches over the fat part of the plate. He'll compete for a bullpen spot in spring training, but is a long shot to have a significant role this year.
