RotoWire's Preseason Outlooks

2013

There was no outlook written for Lance Zawadzki.

2011

Zawadzki spent most of 2010 between Double-A San Antonio and Triple-A Portland. He didn't hit much, had trouble getting on base and struck out nearly a quarter of the time. He has modest speed and power for a utility infielder. Between May and June he got 35 at-bats with the Padres and produced nothing of value to fantasy owners. Since he'll turn 26 in May, there's not much left for him to prove in the minors as he's likely a finished product, so expect to see him serve a utility/bench role for the Royals. It's doubtful that your fantasy team is looking for someone of that ilk.

2010

Nominally a shortstop, Zawadski profiles more like a third baseman or utlityman due to mediocre tools. He's a very polished player who, as a senior sign, has been old for his leagues. At best, he'll be what Matt Antonelli might have been for this team, an above-average bench player who contributes at four or five positions. At this point, he's not worth drafting.
