Dykstra was released by the Nationals on Tuesday, Chelsea Janes of the Washington Post reports.
ANALYSIS
Dykstra was slashing a solid .297/.381/.365 in 37 games with Double-A Harrisburg before being released, but he'll now hit the open market. The 26-year-old has never advanced beyond the Triple-A level -- and has a career average of just .185 there -- so he likely won't make much, if any, of an impact at the major league level wherever he lands.
