Castellanos (hamstring) was reinstated from the 7-day disabled list Sunday and returned to action with Triple-A Norfolk.
ANALYSIS
The Miami native played in just 11 games with the Tides before being sidelined in April. Castellanos came off the DL in July, but aggravated the injury after just four games, sending him back to the shelf until now. Through 16 games at Triple-A, the former big leaguer is slashing just .176/.276/.294.

Past Fantasy Outlooks
2014
2013
2012
Castellanos took a step back in 2013, as his Triple-A OPS dropped from 1.010 to .815 last season. He did club 19 homers and swipe the same number of bases for Albuquerque, but at 27, time has nearly run out on Castellanos' chance at being a big league regular. He was traded from the Dodgers to the Red Sox over the winter, and subsequently claimed off of waivers by the Rangers, so maybe a fresh start will help. Even so, he's likely to open the year at Triple-A.
Castellanos tore up the hitter-friendly Pacific Coast League to the tune of .328/.420/.590 in 2012 while homering 17 times and stealing 16 bases in just 94 games. He received a couple cups of coffee with the Dodgers, even delivering his first career big league homer on the final day of the season off the Giants' Jean Machi. He has the chance to be a utility player for the Dodgers next year, but it's hard to see where regular at-bats would come from.
Castellanos came to the Dodgers in the Rafael Furcal deal last year and it was a breakout season for the 25-year-old. Batting .320/.386/.573 with 23 home runs and 14 stolen bases in 125 games at the Double-A level, Castellanos looks to be worth monitoring in keeper formats. He's a corner outfielder, but there has been some conversation about trying him at second base where the Dodgers have no obvious long-term solution. Castellanos could compete for the left field job this spring, but he's more likely to open in Triple-A. Watch for that position change and key in on him if the bat holds up at the Triple-A level.
