Sierra struggled with injuries in 2005, but is someone to consider in leagues that value fourth outfielders. He's obviously not getting any better at his age, but with 350 at-bats, he could drive in 50 to 60 runs.
Sierra was one of the most valuable fourth outfielders in baseball last season, driving in 65 runs in just 307 AB. If your league is deep enough for backups, Sierra is a great pickup.
The pinch-hitting Sierra was signed to a one-year, $1 million contract and figures to continue to be a late-inning replacement at the plate. He had much success in that role since rejoining the Yanks in 2003 including some timely postseason knocks. Sierra batted .276 with six home runs and 31 RBIs in 63 games last season.
Sierra was touted as the Mariners' big offseason acquisition on offense but failed to provide the pop they were looking for, in part due to injuries that have persistently hampered his career.
