Time may have caught up with Reed last season as he missed a third of the season with back and abdominal injuries. He still has outstanding control and behind his poor ERA, most of his other numbers were not that much different than his 2002 season. As a result, he could offer some surprise value but he'll be a constant injury risk as he turns 38 next season.
Reed got acclimated to the Metrodome and the American League and had a strong season - and carried the Twins while their other big three starters all suffered major injuries. Again had outstanding control (just 26 walks in 188 innings) and that control should give him another solid season for the Twins. The only concern was that his high salary ($8 million) would force Minnesota to trade him to remain within their budget, but Twins owner Carl Pohlad increased the team's budget making it likely he'll be with the club all season.
