ANALYSIS
The 40-year-old Seanez has battled through injuries all year long and was placed on the disabled list on July 9. He was a decent option out of the bullpen for the Phillies last year and could catch on elsewhere with the hope that he'll recover in time to be an added bullpen arm later in the year.

Seanez had a solid season after signing a minor league contract with the Dodgers last January. He appeared in 73 games, struck out nearly a hitter an inning (73 in 76 innings), and posted a 3.79 ERA. Seanez turned 39 over the offseason, but his 2007 performance should get him a guaranteed contract as a middle reliever for someone in 2008. Just don't expect him to add much to his 12 career saves.
Seanez did not fare well in 2006, but still has strikeout stuff (54 K in 53 IP). The 38-year-old was used very sparingly down the stretch by the Padres, but should find a middle relief job somewhere in free agency. His best fantasy attribute is definitely his strikeout potential; his career ERA (4.12) and WHIP (1.38) are not stellar.
Signed as a free agent in the fall of 2004, Seanez had a strong season in middle relief for the Padres. He struck out more than a batter per inning with a 84/22 K/BB ratio. His numbers have been solid the last few years but he just hasn't found a valuable fantasy role. And it's not clear that will change after signing with Boston.
Seanez has always been able to get his K's, and opposing batters have always been able to get their walks. The only thing that changes is where those balls in play drop -- last year, they found gloves on the nice side of the outfield fence. This year, who knows?
A decent reliever when he's healthy, but his health remains his biggest obstacle. Signed a minor-league deal with Texas.
