Past Fantasy Outlooks
2005
2003
Minor entertained a brief glimmer of hope that he would become the Giants regular first baseman when J.T. Snow had surgery in the middle of last season, but did little with the opportunity, was sent down, and will now play in Japan.
If Charles Schulz was still alive to watch the implosion of his beloved Giants in Games Six and Seven of the World Series, we bet that we'd have seen a Peanuts strip on Monday where Charlie Brown said, “why did the Giants leave Damon Minor off the postseason roster?” Only Dusty Baker and Shawon Dunston know the answer to that one. Even though he hit only .237 in 2002, Minor hit 10 home runs in just 173 at-bats, so he's capable of a 25-homer season if he gets regular playing time. At least it appears that Minor will get a fair shake from new manager Felipe Alou, who might look at the Minor-or-J.T. Snow first base decision differently than Baker did.
