With his low G/F ratio, Kim needs to find a more pitcher-friendly ballpark for his next organization if he wants to have any chance of success. At best, he's a fifth starter candidate to be named later.
Kim was a waiver wire pickup late in 2005 and entered the Rockies rotation as an emergency starter. By season's end he made eight starts, winning four of five decisions including a three-hit shutout at Coors Field. Kim throws a 92-94 mph fastball and is consistently in the strike zone. He's got an inside track to win a spot in the rotation.
Kim's 2004 numbers were remarkably similar to his 2003 season at Triple-A, which has to count as progress of a sort. He'll need to make lots more to be a serviceable major league pitcher, however.
Last season was anything but sunny for Sun-Woo, as he staggered through a poor year at Triple-A. He's still got time to figure it out, but not much.
Pitched well after arriving in the (second) Cliff Floyd trade, and didn't look out of place in the rotation in September. Might have a slight edge on fifth starter (or fourth starter, or third starter) over Zach Day, Tim Drew, etc., entering the spring, but not so much that you'd notice.
