Pratt came to the Brewers late in 2004 after a trade with the Cubs. The Brewers lack left handed relief pitching and that means Pratt could win a spot on the roster in 2005. He'll only be used in a middle relief role so his value is limited.
Pratt could earn a bullpen job with the Braves if has an impressive spring after a decent year at Triple-A Richmond. He increased his strikeout totals last season, but he still walks a few too many batters.
Pratt came to the Braves from the Rangers for another fine pitching prospect, Ben Kozlowski. He is a finesse hurler who misplaced his command earlier in the season in Double-A ball, but had a strong Triple-A season after the trade. As a result he got a late-season call up and could get consideration for a big-league job this spring.
