Rest-of-Season Projections
Martinez-Esteve is hitting .294/.384/.379 for Double-A Connecticut, with 50 walks and 32 strikeouts in 367 at-bats.
ANALYSIS
Martinez-Esteve has been healthy most of the season, and has his strike zone judgment back. But years of injuries have robbed him of bat speed, and his power seems to be gone at this point. He doesn't have the speed or defense to be interesting without the power.

Past Fantasy Outlooks
2007
2006
Probably the Giants' best prospect entering last year, Martinez-Esteve hit .272/.324/.446 in 92 at-bats in Double-A before undergoing surgery on his non-throwing shoulder, ending his season. He's only 23 and still projects as a future regular, but he's slow and has very little defensive value. He may best be a DH. His future with San Francisco is unclear and more seasoning in the minors looks likely for this year.
