ANALYSIS
Pedroza's bat has lost some power in the move from High-A to Double-A this season; he's hitting .263/.349/.370 with just four homers in 75 games (12-for-17 in steals) after hitting 22 homers at High-A Vero Beach in 2007.

Past Fantasy Outlooks
2008
2007
Although he's a bit old for his level, those are pretty good power numbers for Pedroza given his environment, and his bat control shows signs of improvement as well. The Rays will move him up to Double-A in 2008. However, given the organization's outfield logjam, a trade is a possibility, and Pedroza would draw some interest. In some other chains, he might be a candidate for a major league fourth outfielder job by the end of 2008.
The Rays got Pedroza from the Dodgers in the Julio Lugo deadline deal, and he looked great at high-A after the trade. Pedroza was repeating the level, however, so we'll see what he does at Double-A in 2007. He shows power and good strike zone judgment, but his defense is so-so as a corner outfielder.
