Closer Watch - A closer look at intriguing ninth-inning situations (also check out our Closer Grid with the link to the left).

Washington – Drew Storen recorded the save against the Pirates on Sunday, his third of the season. Closer-mate Sean Burnett also has three saves on the year, but he has not been provided an opportunity to add to that since blowing one April 25. Storen has posted an 8:2 K:BB over his last 10 innings – all scoreless.

New York (A) – Mariano Rivera blew his second save of the year in Sunday's extra-inning win over the Orioles. It took Rivera until July 4 (or 32 appearances) to blow his second save in 2010. Still, his job security and ability is excellent.

Texas – Arthur Rhodes recorded a one-out save Sunday after Darren Oliver picked up a "real" one Saturday. Darren O'Day is also in the mix while Neftali Feliz is on the disabled list.

Phillies – Like Rhodes, Antonio Bastardo earned a one-out save Sunday in place of a recently DL-d teammate (Jose Contreras), but Ryan Madson is probably the guy to own in this situation.

Recommended Pickup

Gerardo Parra, OF, AZ - Ryan Roberts may be the trendy Diamondback to grab as the season enters its fourth week, but Parra should also be a good option and should cost you fewer FAAB dollars. He should get regular at-bats in left field now that Willie Bloomquist is on the 15-day DL, and he is coming off a weekend in which he went 7-for-16 with a steal. Parra is probably not your third outfielder in a shallow mixer, but he could certainly be your fourth or fifth guy (or better depending on league depth). He will not supply much power (or any of that matter), but he will provide AB's without dragging down your team's BA, and he could chip in the occasional steal.

Other recent recommendations:Brett Wallace, Darren O'Day, Arthur Rhodes, Mitchell Boggs, Danny Espinosa
