Closer Watch

Marlins - Heath Bell struck out two batters and pitched a scoreless ninth for his eighth save of the season. This comes on the heels of two appearances where he allowed three earned runs in a combined 0.2 innings. However, before those two games he had five straight scoreless appearances. It's encouraging to see him strike out two hitters. He hadn't done that since April 19. His 5.29 K/9 going into Monday's game was, by far, the lowest of his career. Basically, this can all be summed up as Bell being a very risky play. He's just as likely to earn a save as he is to blow up at this point.

Recommended Pickup

Lonnie Chisenhall, 3B, CLE - Chisenhall has been one of the Indians top prospects the past few years. However, Jack Hannahan has blocked him at third base with a good start to this season. With Hannahan going on the 15-Day DL, Chisenhall has been called up and should see plenty of time at the hot corner. If he hits well enough, there is a good chance that he will remain on the roster going forward. Don't expect Chisenhall to be a superstar. He should be a solid hitter that can help a fantasy squad in need of a third baseman. Chisenhall has had a great season in Triple-A with a .324 batting average and has flashed some power, as evidenced by his seven home runs in 66 minor league games last season. In deeper leagues, he's worth an add to see if he can keep up his good hitting.
