Notes: Jorge De La Rosa
(elbow) appears to be in line to make a start at some point this year, perhaps as early as this week. It could be that the Rockies end up shutting down Drew Pomeranz and giving DLR a look. ... Another guy we could see soon is Chris Carpenter (shoulder). Carpenter has been throwing simulation games and could very well get a start this year, perhaps even this week. He'd likely sub for Lance Lynn. ... The Padres are going with a six-man rotation the rest of the way, so we'll see another couple starts for Casey Kelly, Andrew Cashner and Andrew Werner. ... Paul Maholm has had a couple ugly outings recently, so drop him in the rankings based on that and his history of inconsistency. ... Matt Harvey has been very impressive, posting a 2.92 ERA and a 10.9 K/9IP in nine starts, but he'll be shut down after his next start due to innings. ... It's hard to see Jenrry Mejia having much success in the rotation given his 39:24 K:BB in 73.2 innings. ... It's two runs or less for Kyle Kendrick in each of his last six starts. He's highly recommended this week, but cross your fingers that his good pitching continues. ... Ted Lilly will have season-ending shoulder surgery. Lilly's injury-riddled 2012 season ends with a 5-1 record and a 3.14 ERA.

Notes:
Monitor Jason Hammel's (knee) progress over the weekend. I don't have him starting this week, but that could very well change. ... Chris Tillman (elbow) is expected to start Monday against the Mariners in his first outing since Sept. 2. ... Andy Pettitte (leg) rejoins the Yankee rotation, pushing Freddy Garciato the bullpen. Pettitte is also a two-start starter this week. ... Ricky Romero needs to be "fixed" somehow this offseason. Perhaps the rest will do him wonders, but please don't use him against the Yankees this week. Romero is a very tentative two-start starter, with Chad Jenkins a strong possibility to make him a one-start guy. ... I wonder whether the Angels move Jered Weaver up to Tuesday and push Ervin Santana back a few days. Considering the opponent is Texas, it's a possibility given Monday's off day. This would make Weaver a two-start pitcher. ... I'm guessing the Mariners go with a six-man rotation this week, but things could change. Felix Hernandez will be pushed back a day to Wednesday. ... In three starts this month, A.J. Griffin has a 0.89 ERA and 18:1 K:BB in 20.1 innings. He has tough road starts this week in Detroit and New York, but he clearly should be used in all formats.
