Closer Watch
Diamondbacks: For the third straight game, Heath Bell recorded the save bringing his season total to four. He entered the game against the Phillies Thursday with a one-run lead and only allowed a double to Domonic Brown while only needing seven pitches to make it through the inning. With regular closer J.J. Putz out a period of time, Bell has the opportunity to grab the reins and be a big closer in the NL West once again.

Pirates: Jason Grilli took his first loss of the season in a non-save situation when he entered with a tie game in the ninth against the Mets on Thursday. The Mets played textbook small ball in sacrificing a leadoff baserunner to second before driving in the winning run. With a 1.26 ERA and a league-leading 16 saves, Grilli is not going anywhere as the Pirates' closer.

Recommended Pickup

Andrelton Simmons, SS, ATL - Simmons has been quickly snatched up in many leagues over the past week following his two home-run and four RBI performance on May 6 against the Reds. An asset to his value is the fact that he has batted in the top two spots in the order for 18 games this season with a high-octane offense hitting behind him giving him the opportunity to score runs and see better pitches in front of the likes of Justin Upton and Freddie Freeman. Regular power will not be something to depend on him as he has surpassed his entire professional career high with four home runs this season, but his solid on-base and slick fielding will keep him in the lineup nearly every day. The 23-year old has respectable speed though he has not run very much in the majors yet. He should be a fixture in the Braves lineup for quite some time.

Other Recent Recommendations: Heath Bell, James Loney, Junichi Tazawa, Dee Gordon, and Marcell Ozuna
