NATIONAL LEAGUE

We have a ton of two-start guys in the NL this week bumping some serious talent down a bit.

START

1. Jose Fernandez - LAD, COL (there may be two guys who can stop the Dodgers and one of is their ace, Fernandez just might be the other)
2. Francisco Liriano - at SD, at SF (bounced back from his Coors Field speed bump with a CG at STL)
3. Patrick Corbin - at CIN, at PHI
4. A.J. Burnett - at SD, at SF (hit a second speed bump in STL after the one in Coors, but this setup is a perfect remedy)
5. Clayton Kershaw - at MIA (unfortunately we don't get to see him square off against Fernandez)
6. Madison Bumgarner - PIT
7. Jordan Zimmermann - at CHC, at KC (unlikely to match the Ks totals of one-start studs, but back on track from late-July hiccup)
8. Stephen Strasburg - at CHC (he has a 2.37 ERA, 0.79 WHIP, 44 Ks in 38 IP over last five; just 1-2 thanks to poor offense)
9. Zack Greinke - at MIA (on fire with a 1.66 ERA in his last seven

9. Zack Greinke - at MIA (on fire with a 1.66 ERA in his last seven and now gets baseball's worst-hitting team)
10. Matt Harvey - DET
11. Adam Wainwright - ATL
12. Gio Gonzalez - at KC
13. Cliff Lee - COL (despite a 5.82 ERA in his last three, still has 20 Ks, 4.0 K/BB over the 17 IP)
14. Mat Latos - ARI
15. Cole Hamels - ARI
16. Mike Minor - at STL (Cards aren't nearly as threatening against lefties, and he has a 7-IP/1-ER outing against them from late-July)
17. Shelby Miller - at MIL, ATL (looked fine in his outing after the elbow injury led to one batter and done vs. LAD)
18. Jorge De La Rosa - at PHI, at MIA (better at home ERA-wise, but he gets two of the five worst lefty-hitting teams in baseball this week)
19. Lance Lynn - at MIL, ATL
20. Matt Cain - PIT (looking a lot more like Vintage Cain lately)
21. Travis Wood - at SD
22. Homer Bailey - MIL (one of the most maddeningly inconsistent SPs in the game)
23. Julio Teheran - at STL
24. Mike Leake - ARI
25. Zack Wheeler - ATL (tremendous outing in SD shows upside, but ATL is much more difficult)
26. Dan Haren - at CHC, at KC (healthy Dan Haren is still a very good Dan Haren: 2.30 ERA, 0.91 WHIP in July, Aug.)
27. Tony Cingrani - ARI, MIL
28. Bronson Arroyo - ARI, MIL (after his STL shellacking, put together two 7-IP gems with 7 Ks in each)
29. Andrew Cashner - PIT, CHC (his 2.51 home ERA is nearly half that of his 4.93 road work)
30. Kris Medlen - at NYM, at STL
31. Dillon Gee - at MIN, DET
32. Hyun-Jin Ryu - at MIA, BOS
33. Chris Capuano - at MIA, BOS (both LAD lefties can get fat on Marlins before taking on Red Sox)
34. Jeff Samardzija - WAS, SD
35. Jacob Turner - LAD, COL
36. Randall Delgado - at CIN, at PHI
37. Brandon Beachy - at NYM (getting better by the start)
38. Gerrit Cole - at SD
39. Kyle Lohse - STL
40. Wade Miley - at PHI (averaging nearly 7 IP/start in his last eight with 2.01 ERA in 53.7 IP)
41. Jhoulys Chacin - at MIA
42. Tyson Ross - PIT (26-year-old has been fantastic, and not just at home as his 3.06 road ERA is strong, too)
43. Ian Kennedy - PIT
44. Jeff Locke - at SF (we've seen glimpses of regression, but strong matchups have kept him fantasy worthy)
45. Alex Wood - at STL
46. Jenrry Mejia - DET (Cole through Mejia being this low shows the depth of this week given the 2-start pool)
47. Chris Rusin - WAS, at SD (been quietly good in six starts with a 3.06 ERA, and the Nats are one of baseball's worst against LHP)
48. Ryan Vogelsong - BOS, PIT
49. Marco Estrada - STL, at CIN (Estrada, Vogey are still just two starts back from big DL stints)
50. Tim Lincecum - BOS, PIT
51. Charlie Morton - at SF
52. Trevor Cahill - at CIN (returns from the DL Aug. 17 in Pittsburgh)
53. Eric Stults - CHC
54. Wily Peralta - at CIN
55. Jake Arrieta - WAS (allowed one earned in his two starts, including seven shutout innings vs. STL)
56. Chad Gaudin - BOS (the 49ers edged the Dolphins 14-10 on Friday, and Gaudin was trounced pushing his SP ERA from 2.60 to 3.53 in four wretched IP)
57. Ricky Nolasco - BOS
58. Edwin Jackson - WAS
59. Jon Niese - ATL (this will be the toughest of his three outings since returning from the DL; OK against ARI and rolled SD)
60. Tyler Thornburg - STL (I've been impressed in the small three-start sample, but STL is easily his toughest opponent yet)
61. Yovani Gallardo - at CIN
62. Brandon McCarthy - at CIN

CAUTION

63. Nathan Eovaldi - LAD
64. Joe Kelly - ATL
65. Kyle Kendrick - COL
66. Taylor Jordan - at CHC
67. Henderson Alvarez - LAD
68. John Lannan - COL, ARI
69. Jeff Manship - at PHI, at MIA
70. Jake Westbrook - at MIL
71. Juan Nicasio - at PHI
72. Edinson Volquez - CHC
73. Ethan Martin - COL, ARI
74. Tom Koehler - COL
75. Chad Bettis - at PHI

AMERICAN LEAGUE

START

1. David Price - at BAL, NYY (still hasn't gone fewer than 7 IP in nine starts since returning from DL)
2. Ervin Santana - CWS, WAS (Ks are down a bit lately, but results remain strong)
3. Yu Darvish - at CWS (CWS has the fourth-lowest K% vs. RHP, Yu will change that)
4. Max Scherzer - at NYM
5. Anibal Sanchez - MIN (1.90 ERA, 1.06 WHIP in 23.7 IP across four starts vs. Twins this year)
6. Hiroki Kuroda - TOR (MLB's most underrated SP has a 1.69 ERA, 0.66 WHIP in 21.3 IP across three starts vs. the Jays this year)
7. Felix Hernandez - LAA
8. Matt Garza - HOU (allowed 4 ER in each of his last three, but managed a win and 8 Ks Aug. 9 at HOU)
9. Felix Doubront - at SF (trip to SF is the best remedy for back-to-back 4-IP outings with 10.13 ERA)
10. Jered Weaver - CLE, at SEA (this is less an overreaction to the NYY outing and more an acknowledgment of SEA's sweet-swinging)
11. Derek Holland - HOU
12. Chris Sale - TEX (might be right on Kuroda's tail for that underrated tag)
13. Jon Lester - at SF
14. James Shields - CWS (picked on the White Sox this year, allowing 5 ER in 26 IP)
15. Justin Verlander - MIN (strong outing in defeat vs. KC gives him four QS in his last five)
16. Hisashi Iwakuma - at OAK
17. Ivan Nova - TOR, at TB
18. Jarrod Parker - SEA, at BAL (couple of tough outings, but Parker's been great since both of these teams hit him in April)
19. Rick Porcello - MIN, at NYM (since 7-ER outing vs. LAA on June 25: 2.84 ERA in eight starts, 50.7 IP)
20. Miguel Gonzalez - TB, OAK
21. Danny Salazar - at LAA, MIN (sputtered a bit vs. MIN, but Ks remain a big asset)
22. Doug Fister - at NYM
23. Alex Cobb - at BAL (great in DL return against tough SEA team)
24. John Lackey - at LAD
25. Jake Peavy - at SF
26. Justin Masterson - at LAA (Angels got to him on Aug. 11 in a 4.3-IP/4-ER start as he allowed 7 H and 4 BB)
27. Bruce Chen - WAS (gets biggest challenge in seven starts this weekend against DET)
28. Hector Santiago - TEX
29. Martin Perez - at CWS (great in last three with a 1.59 ERA including two against LAA)
30. Scott Kazmir - MIN
31. Wei-Yin Chen - TB (silver lining of 6.3-IP/4-ER outing against COL was 7 Ks)
32. Jeremy Hellickson - at BAL
33. Chris Tillman - TB
34. C.J. Wilson - CLE (salvaged win in CLE despite 11 baserunners in 5.3 IP)
35. CC Sabathia - at TB
36. Garrett Richards - at SEA (getting better with each start in his last four since rejoining the rotation in late-July)
37. Zach McAllister - at LAA
38. Sonny Gray - SEA (love what we've seen out of him, but SEA is no joke and it's only his third start)
39. A.J. Griffin - SEA
40. Jeremy Guthrie - CWS (owned CWS as a Royal save his last outing against them in June)
41. Jose Quintana - at KC (KC has been the AL version of PIT with modest offense, so you can still spot-start against them)
42. R.A. Dickey - at NYY (he's building up our trust ... which usually means he drops a 6-ER outing on our face sometime soon)
43. Jarred Cosart - at TEX (the ugly 1:1 K:BB ratio still gives me pause)
44. Jason Vargas - at SEA (this trip to his old stomping grounds will be just his third start back from the DL)
45. Mark Buehrle - at NYY
46. Dan Straily - at BAL (despite failing to complete 5 IP in three of them, Straily has a 2.88 ERA in his last seven starts)
47. Brett Oberholtzer - TOR
48. Samuel Deduno - at CLE
49. Bartolo Colon - at BAL (wobbly as the innings pile up; trip to BAL isn't a great remedy)
50. Roberto Hernandez - NYY
51. Bud Norris - OAK
52. Scott Feldman - OAK

CAUTION

53. Ryan Dempster - at LAD
54. Ubaldo Jimenez - MIN
55. Andrew Albers - at DET (still skeptical, especially against Detroit)
56. Erasmo Ramirez - LAA (showing control, but no command with 2.1 HR/9)
57. Phil Hughes - TOR
58. Chris Archer - NYY (didn't look right in his first start after forearm tightness)
59. Alexi Ogando - HOU, at CWS (we still don't know if he'll make either start let alone both)
60. Kyle Gibson - NYM, at CLE
61. John Danks - at KC, TEX
62. Esmil Rogers - at NYY, at HOU
63. Andre Rienzo - at KC
64. Todd Redmond - at HOU
65. Joe Saunders - at OAK
66. Andy Pettitte - TOR
67. J.A. Happ - at NYY
68. Jerome Williams - CLE
69. Erik Bedard - at TEX
70. Wade Davis - WAS
71. Dallas Keuchel - TOR
72. Jordan Lyles - at TEX
73. Brad Peacock - TOR
74. Kevin Correia - at DET
75. Mike Pelfrey - at DET, at CLE
76. Aaron Harang - at OAK, LAA
