Closer Watch

Toronto Blue Jays - Casey Janssen was back in the closer's role for the Blue Jays on Sunday, and worked around a Jacoby Ellsbury double to preserve a 4-3 victory and earn his 20th save of the season. The 32-year-old reliever was happy close August on a high-note, finishing the month with an 0-2 record, two saves and a 7.08 ERA in 11 appearances. Brett Cecil and Aaron Sanchez also earned saves for Toronto while Janssen worked through his struggles, but Sunday's clean inning may have been the confidence booster Janssen needed to finish the season in the role.

Recommended Pickup

Jordan Schafer, OF, MIN - Schafer extended his hitting streak to 11 games with two hits, an RBI, a run and stolen base during Sunday's loss to the Orioles. The stolen base was his 10th in 24 games with Minnesota since they claimed him off waivers from the Braves in early August, and he's hit .324/.400/.423 with five doubles, a triple, nine RBI and 12 runs scored during that span. Fantasy owners in need of steals should find room to add Schafer to their roster for the final four weeks of the season, as his contributions in the category could certainly make a difference in the standings.

Other Recent Recommendations: Wade Davis, Russell Martin, Drew Smyly, Eric O'Flaherty and Jorge Soler.
