PITCHER
Mat Latos, CWS vs. TEX ($7,300): Latos has been outstanding in a White Sox uniform, scoring 20-25 fantasy points over his first three starts. He's allowed a single earned run over 18.1 innings, neutralizing hitters from both sides of the plate. While he faces a potent Rangers lineup, he'll get to do so away from Globe Life Park. His overall career would certainly point to an eventual regression from a near-perfect start to the season, but jumping on Latos at a price that is significantly below his level of production to date deserves strong consideration.
Jason Hammel, CHC at CIN ($7,900): Hammel could be another solid value play, as he's been excellent in the early going, posting a 1.50 ERA over 18 innings and scoring between 18.7 and 23.9 fantasy points over that span. He pitched six scoreless innings versus the Reds on Apr. 14 in his second start of the season, and he stands a good chance of returning solid value on a very reasonable price in his encore matchup.
CATCHER
Stephen Vogt, OAK at TOR ($3,300): Vogt should find himself back in the lineup Sunday against righty Drew Hutchinson, who's surrendered a .339 wOBA and 32 homers over the course of his three-season career to left-handed batters. Over 52 plate appearances, Vogt is already managing a .359 wOBA and .191 ISO against right-handers this season, along with a 30.8 percent hard contact rate. Those numbers fall right in line with the .353 wOBA and .211 ISO he had in 2015, further corroborating Vogt's proficiency against that handedness of pitching. He's also been hot as of late, posting four double-digit fantasy point outings in his last six games.
FIRST BASE
Sean Rodriguez, PIT at ARI ($2,700): Rodriguez is coming off back-to-back games with 21 and 14 fantasy points, respectively, and he'll look to continue his hot hitting against left-hander Robbie Ray, whose control problems often get him into sticky situations. Rodriguez is mashing left-handed pitching over a small sample so far this season, totaling a .560 wOBA and .500 ISO. He also has a solid .329 wOBA against southpaws for his career, while Ray has surrendered a .341 wOBA and 11 of the 14 career dingers to right-handed hitters.
SECOND BASE
Neil Walker, NYM at ATL ($3,700): The veteran switch hitter continues to stroke a hot bat, having scored double-digit fantasy points in four of his last five games. He'll face off against rookie Aaron Blair, who'll be making his major league debut. Having come over from the Diamondbacks system in the Shelby Miller trade this past winter, Blair has flashed both strikeout prowess and control problems in his minor league career, and a savvy hitter like Walker could well be the type to lure him into some trouble in his first game. Although he's found a lot more success against lefties hitting from the right side in the early going this season, Walker has posted a .348 wOBA and .184 ISO against right-handers in his career, along with 91 of his 100 home runs.
THIRD BASE
Mike Moustakas, KC vs. BAL ($4,200): Moustakas is another player who's had some explosive games recently, with scores of 19 and 24 fantasy points in his last three games. He's already posting a .389 wOBA and .345 ISO over 60 plate appearances against right-handed pitching this season, along with a 42 percent hard contact rate. Meanwhile, Mike Wright is already yielding a .464 wOBA to lefties this year over a 19-batter sample, and he has been touched up by them to the tune of a .403 wOBA and five homers over a 120-batter sample in his season-plus in the majors. The career wOBA climbs to .450 when facing lefties on the road, furthering Moustakas' appeal.
SHORTSTOP
Aledmys Diaz, STL at SD ($3,400): Diaz's outstanding rookie season continued Saturday with a 5-for-5, two-double, two-RBI day. He's punished both handedness of pitchers equally, and now has a .553 wOBA and. 371 ISO against right-handers over 38 plate appearances. Meanwhile, Colin Rea has proven to largely be a reverse-splits pitcher in his brief career, facilitating outstanding production to right-handed bats. He's giving up a .415 wOBA and two homers to them over a 42-batter sample this season, and a .369 wOBA to them over his season-plus major league career over a 94-batter sample.
OUTFIELD
Starling Marte, PIT at ARI ($4,500): We'll pick on Robbie Ray again with Marte, who has five double-digit fantasy point efforts in his last nine games. Marte also owns an outstanding .370 wOBA and .186 ISO against southpaws over 395 plate appearances in his career, and takes aim at Ray in hitter-friendly Chase Field, where he's surrendered a .380 wOBA and six homers over 58 career innings versus right-handed hitters.
George Springer, HOU vs. BOS ($4,400): Springer has been very consistent over the last week, scoring double-digit fantasy points in four of his last seven games. He's posted a .447 wOBA versus lefties this season, and a .622 wOBA against them in hitter-friendly Minute Maid Park. A longer view of those numbers backs up his early-season success, as he's managed a .384 wOBA over his two-plus major league seasons against southpaws. While Henry Owens actually fared better against right-handed hitters in his rookie season last year, he's given up five of his seven career homers to hitters from the right side of the plate.
Michael Conforto, NYM at ATL ($3,200): The young slugger has posted a .402 wOBA versus right-handed pitching over a 54-plate appearance sample in 2016, along with both of his home runs. He also hit all 11 of his homers in 2015 against them on his way to a .378 wOBA. Conforto has also reached base safely in his last 10 games, and will face off against rookie Aaron Blair in Blair's first major league appearance.
