DraftKings MLB: Tuesday Picks

This article is part of our DraftKings MLB series.

PITCHER

Drew Pomeranz, BOS at MIL ($8,100): The Brewers own an impressive offense against lefties (.359 wOBA) but also sport a target-worthy 26.2 strikeout percentage. With Pomeranz's 11.3 K/9 and 29.3 strikeout percentage, he's got the potential to pile up fantasy points in a hurry. Additionally, Milwaukee has scored the ninth fewest runs in the league over the past two weeks, so there's a better than zero chance the Brew Crew overachieved to start the year.

Charlie Morton, HOU vs. ATL ($7,600): The veteran currently sports a 3.09 FIP, 10.3 K/9 and 26.2 strikeout percentage, so this salary doesn't jive with his solid numbers. With a middle-of-the-pack offense against right-handed arms (.318 wOBA), the Braves aren't a daunting opponent, and Morton has shown an uptick in the strikeout column over his past three starts with 26 through 18 innings.

CATCHER

Brian McCann, HOU vs. ATL ($3,400):Bartolo Colon has surrendered a 37.6 hard-hit percentage to left-handed batters dating back to last season and has struggled since joining the Braves with a 6.27 ERA. It's been just the opposite for McCann, as he's posted a .407 on-base percentage and .363 wOBA against right-handed arms as an Astro this year.

FIRST BASE

Adam Lind, WAS at BAL ($3,700): With the option to utilize a designated hitter, Lind projects to be in the lineup. He checks out at an affordable salary and has posted a .921 OPS and .372 wOBA against right-handed pitchers this season. Ubaldo Jimenez has also surrendered a .380 wOBA to left-handed hitters dating back to 2016.

SECOND BASE

Ben Zobrist, CHC at COL ($4,800): After the postponed game burned daily players Monday, there's a chance the Cubs won't be as highly owned Tuesday. Zobrist has posted a .396 on-base percentage and .376 wOBA against southpaws dating back to 2015, and there's also the Coors Field boost. It's worth nothing that Kyle Freeland has been exceptional in his rookie campaign, but the Cubs' lineup could prove to be a step up in competition.

THIRD BASE

Miguel Sano, MIN at CWS ($4,300): This is a sneaky good matchup for Sano, as Mike Pelfry has posted a 5.12 FIP over the past two seasons while allowing a .364 wOBA to right-handed hitters. It isn't the traditional handedness advantage, but Sano boasts a .242 ISO and .353 wOBA against right-handed hurlers during his career and 40 of his 51 home runs have come against right-handed arms.

SHORTSTOP

Addison Russell, CHC at COL ($4,400): The shortstop showed marked improvement against lefties last season and sports a .241 ISO and .344 wOBA against them dating back to the beginning of 2016. He'll be locked into the heart of the order, which helps his chances of scoring and driving in runs, and he should be lower owned than Chicago's more noted stars.

OUTFIELD

Giancarlo Stanton, MIA vs. STL ($4,500): This is a soft salary to chase Stanton's upside. The slugger hasn't been nearly as dominant against right-handed pitchers, but his .257 ISO and .363 wOBA against them dating back to 2014 are still solid marks. It's also a solid matchup for Stanton, as Adam Wainwright has surrendered a .430 wOBA to right-handed hitters this year.

Andrew Benintendi, BOS at MIL ($4,400): Dating back to last season, Wily Peralta has allowed a .385 wOBA to left-handed hitters, so this is a ripe matchup for Benintendi. He's locked into the two-hole of the lineup and has posted a .395 on-base percentage and .403 wOBA against right-handed hurlers during his career. The game is also at hitter-friendly Miller Park.

Matt Joyce, OAK vs. LAA ($2,500): A low-priced flier, Joyce has been hitting in the top half of the lineup against right-handed pitchers and sports a respectable .343 wOBA against them dating back to last season. He also lands in a soft matchup against Alex Meyer, as the righty has made just eight major league starts and allowed a .398 wOBA to left-handed hitters over the past two years.
