PITCHER
Max Scherzer, WAS at SF ($25,800): Scherzer racked up 43.90 fantasy points against the Padres in his last start and now draws a team even more inept offensively. San Francisco sports a majors-low .280 wOBA versus right-handed pitching (including .277 in May), along with a 20.5 percent strikeout rate. In addition to his season-high fantasy-point haul against San Diego, Scherzer has also eclipsed 30 fantasy points on four other occasions this season, making him an excellent GPP or cash play.
Jacob deGrom, NYM vs. MIL ($23,200): The Brewers have a .290 wOBA, 24.9 percent strikeout rate and 73 wRC+ over their last 201 plate appearances against right-handed pitching, while deGrom has generated a 2.19 ERA, .202 BAA and .280 wOBA over 24.2 home innings. He's also eclipsed 30 fantasy points in each of his last two starts, and in four total outings this season. While Milwaukee did get to deGrom for four earned runs over six innings in a May 14 start at Miller Park, the Mets' right-hander still struck out seven.
INFIELD
Robinson Cano, SEA vs. COL ($9,300): Rockies starter Antonio Senzatela has given up a .316 wOBA to left-handed hitters, along with a 4.87 xFIP that's been somewhat offset by a .247 BABIP. He's also surrendering a robust 25.0 percent line drive rate in five May starts, along with a 30.9 percent hard contact rate to left-handed hitters this season. Cano has exploded for a .443 wOBA, .328 ISO, 188 wRC+ and 44.3 percent hard contact rate over 73 plate appearances in May, and he boasts a .445 wOBA, .286 ISO and 36.8 percent hard contact rate against right-handed pitching at Safeco Field. Meanwhile, the Rockies' bullpen has surrendered an NL-high .395 wOBA to lefty bats over the last 15 games.
Xander Bogaerts, BOS at CWS ($8,800): Bogaerts has a .407 wOBA and 35.6 percent hard contact rate in 122 plate appearances this month, and he boasts a .373 wOBA versus right-handed pitching. He's also managed a 31.4 percent line drive rate and 33.3 percent hard contact rate against that handedness away from Fenway Park, while White Sox starter Mike Pelfrey has given up five homers over his last five starts.
Daniel Robertson, TB at TEX ($5,400): Robertson makes for a low-risk value play with some upside against Rangers spot starter Austin Bibens-Dirkx, who's only pitched 11.1 innings at the major-league level and already surrendered a 36.4 percent hard contact rate and a pair of homers. Robertson smacked his fourth homer Tuesday and has a .336 wOBA against right-handed pitching on the road. Furthermore, in a game where the Rangers' bullpen could be heavily involved, it's worth noting Texas relievers have generated a 4.85 ERA and allowed a .330 wOBA versus righty bats this month.
OUTFIELD
Aaron Judge, NYY at BAL ($10,400): Judge followed up a stellar opening month of the season by compiling a .448 wOBA, 23.7 percent line drive rate and 44.1 percent hard contact rate over 106 plate appearances in May. He's also battered right-handed pitching for a .465 wOBA this season, while making hard contact versus that handedness a whopping 49.4 percent of the time, helping lead to 14 of his 17 homers on the season. He's blasted a pair of round trippers in just eight plate appearances versus Orioles starter Kevin Gausman, who's yielded a .417 wOBA and six homers to right-handed hitters. The Baltimore bullpen has been generous to righty bats as well, giving up eight homers to that handedness this month and 14 overall in 2017.
Brett Gardner, NYY at BAL ($8,800): Gausman has given up a .335 wOBA and 6.22 xFIP to lefty bats, along with a 32.5 percent hard contact rate. Meanwhile, Gardner has a .324 average, two doubles and one homer over 35 career plate appearances against the Orioles starter, and he boasts a .450 wOBA, .361 ISO, nine homers and a 38.8 hard contact rate over 110 plate appearances this month. He also has a .390 wOBA, 24.8 percent line drive rate and 37.5 percent hard contact rate against right-handed pitching, making him a mid-priced component of a potential Yankees stack.
Jayson Werth, WAS at SF ($6,600): Werth is a cost-effective option against Giants starter Matt Cain, who he has a .500 average against over 12 career plate appearances. Cain was excellent in his last start but still sports a 6.59 ERA, 5.67 xFIP, .363 wOBA and 34.7 percent hard contact rate allowed over his last five starts, while Werth boasts a .380 wOBA, 24.5 percent line drive rate and 34.0 percent hard contact rate versus righties on the road.
UTILITY
Miguel Cabrera, DET at KC ($8,400): Cabrera has touched up Royals starter Ian Kennedy for a .385 batting average, a pair of doubles and a triple in 16 career encounters, and he boasts a 28.7 percent line drive rate and 47.2 percent hard contact rate versus right-handed pitching. Kennedy has seen some notable regression over his last three starts, posting a 10.32 ERA and .412 wOBA allowed in the 11.1 innings over that span, while Cabrera is likely due for a power surge after posting a 26.6 percent line drive rate and 50.0 percent hard contact rate over his last 102 plate appearances.
Matt Kemp, ATL at LAA ($7,800): Angels starter Jesse Chavez has given up a .369 wOBA, nine homers and a 39.8 percent hard contact rate to right-handed hitters, while Kemp has blasted righties for a .481 wOBA and 34.7 percent hard contact rate on the road. He's also been on fire over the second half of this month, boasting a .433 wOBA, 170 wRC+, 31.4 percent line drive rate and 39.2 percent hard contact rate in his last 16 games.
