FantasyDraft MLB: Saturday Values

This article is part of our FantasyDraft MLB series.

PITCHER

Brad Peacock, HOU at LAA ($21,300): Peacock brings plenty of strikeout upside and has scored between 14.60 and 20.60 fantasy points in four of his last five starts. His ability to miss bats gives him plenty of tournament upside, and he checks in sporting a solid 3.10 ERA, .282 wOBA allowed and 11.2 K/9 in 52.1 road innings this season.

Jason Hammel, KC at CLE ($13,200): Hammel has some risk but draws an Indians squad that's posting a majors-low .277 wOBA and 66 wRC+ against right-handed pitching at home in the last three weeks, while also striking out at a 24.2 percent rate. Hammel doesn't bring an abundance of upside, but he's priced attractively and has allowed a .270 wOBA in 48.0 second-half innings.

INFIELD

Eric Hosmer, KC at CLE ($9,300): Hosmer is in a good spot to offer Hammel some run support, considering Indians starter Mike Clevinger has allowed a .371 wOBA, 26.3 percent HR/FB rate and 40.9 percent hard contact rate to left-handed hitters at Progressive Field. Meanwhile, Hosmer boasts a .397 wOBA and .206 ISO against righties, as well as a 36.7 percent hard contact rate against them on the road. Indians relievers also have a 6.30 ERA and have allowed a .376 wOBA and 35.3 percent hard contact rate to lefty bats at home in the last 21 days.

Lucas Duda, TB at STL ($7,500): Duda has punished Cardinals starter Mike Leake for a .778 batting average, including two homers, and six RBI over 12 plate appearances. Leake is heading in the wrong direction as well, as evidenced by his 10.31 ERA and .422 wOBA allowed in his last four starts. He's also been tagged by lefty bats for a .349 wOBA at Busch Stadium, while Duda boasts a .372 wOBA (including 19 homers), .288 ISO and 44.3 percent hard contact rate versus righty arms. Finally, Cardinals relievers have a 7.84 ERA and have allowed a .363 wOBA to left-handed hitters at home in the last three weeks.

Brandon Crawford, SF at ARI ($6,800): Crawford provides some cheap exposure to D-Backs starter Taijuan Walker's biggest weakness, which is evidenced by a .379 wOBA, 2.6 HR/9, 4.98 xFIP and 41.3 percent hard contact rate allowed to left-handed hitters at Chase Field. Crawford has finally started heating up, posting a .332 wOBA over 82 plate appearances this month, and he's generated an impressive 36.8 percent hard contact rate against righties on the road for the season.

OUTFIELD

George Springer, HOU at LAA ($9,600): Angels starter Tyler Skaggs has given up a .355 wOBA and 32.7 percent hard contact rate to right-handed hitters at home, and he's allowed a .360 wOBA overall in 20.2 second-half innings. Meanwhile, Springer checks in with a .523 wOBA, .391 ISO, 38.9 percent HR/FB rate and 42.3 percent hard contact rate against southpaws on the road.

Corey Dickerson, TB at STL ($8,700): The struggles of Mike Leake and the Cardinals' bullpen against left-handed hitters were detailed earlier, while Dickerson comes in a .366 wOBA, .207 ISO and 35.2 percent hard contact rate against right-handed pitching on the road. He's also starting to heat up after an extended slump, rattling off double-digit fantasy points in three of his last four games.

Randal Grichuk, STL vs. TB ($7,200): Grichuk packs plenty of pop at a bargain price, boasting a .356 wOBA over 76 plate appearances this month. Meanwhile, Rays lefty Blake Snell has allowed a .365 wOBA, including six homers, and a 34.9 percent hard contact rate to righty bats on the road this year.

UTILITY

Christian Yelich, MIA vs. SD ($9,000): Yelich could exploit Padres starter Dinelson Lamet's weakness against lefty bats, which is evidenced by a .374 wOBA and 38.7 percent hard contact rate allowed. Yelich has a .354 wOBA versus righties, as well as a 39.1 percent hard contact rate against them at Marlins Park. He boasts a .391 wOBA and .236 ISO overall in 165 second-half plate appearances, while Padres relievers have a majors-high 11.25 ERA and have allowed a .412 wOBA to lefty hitters on the road in the last three weeks.

Rhys Hoskins, PHI vs. CHC ($8,400): Following another homer Friday, Hoskins has now gone deep in three straight and six of his last seven. He's also sporting a .440 wOBA, .371 ISO and 48.2 percent hard contact rate against right-handed pitching, which could play well with Cubs starter Kyle Hendricks' season-high 37.3 percent fly-ball rate over 23.2 innings this month. Hendricks is also allowing a 4.57 xFIP during the month, while Cubs relievers have a 6.17 ERA and have allowed a .393 wOBA, including four homers, to righty hitters on the road in the last 21 days.
