DraftKings MLB: Saturday Picks

DraftKings MLB: Saturday Picks

This article is part of our DraftKings MLB series.

PITCHER

Zach Davies, MIL at MIA ($9,200): I'm rolling with cheaper pitchers Saturday that can serve my squad with a high floor. Davies has reached at least 14.6 fantasy points in his last six starts with five of those being quality outings. The Marlins are near the bottom of the list with a .291 wOBA and 24.8 percent K rate against righties since Aug. 25.

Alex Cobb, TB vs. BOS ($8,000): Cobb doesn't go deep into games, but he's allowed just six runs and 18 hits in his last four starts. In his last two starts against the Red Sox (Sept. 10, July 8), Cobb has allowed six hits and one run in 12.2 innings. The Red Sox have a below average .294 wOBA against righties over the last three weeks.

CATCHER

Tucker Barnhart, CIN vs. PIT ($3,000): My run of cheap plays continues with Barnhart, who should start due to his superior numbers against righties with a .352 wOBA in his last 42 plate appearances. On the mound, Ivan Nova hasn't had many good outings lately, allowing 14 runs and five homers in his last three starts. Nova gave up seven runs and eight hits when these teams met a few weeks ago.

FIRST BASE

Carlos Santana, CLE vs. KC ($4,900): Using Jason Hammel against this Indians squad is not a great route to take. Santana comes in a bit cheaper than his teammates, yet sports a .519 wOBA and .405 ISO in his last 51 plate appearances against righties. Hammel has a 5.17 xFIP against lefties and has given up at least four runs in three of his last four starts.

SECOND BASE

Yolmer Sanchez, CWS at DET ($4,200): Sanchez's price has shot up quickly, but I still think he's worth it for this matchup. He also has a .433 wOBA and .296 ISO in his last 60 plate appearances against righties. Myles Jaye was blasted for seven runs in his first start and there's no reason to trust him against the White Sox.

THIRD BASE

Todd Frazier, NYY vs. BAL ($3,700): Frazier is one of the few Yankees that has hit well over the last month, and he has a .372 wOBA and .235 ISO in his last 46 plate appearances against righties. Also, his 28.5 percent K rate shouldn't be an issue as Jeremy Hellickson isn't a big strikeout guy with a 13.8 percent K rate against righties to go with a 5.08 xFIP. Hellickson couldn't make it three innings last meeting with the Yankees and could run into a similar issue here, having given up 13 runs in his last three starts. Frazier is dealing with back issues, so make sure he's in the lineup before using him.

SHORTSTOP

Tim Anderson, CWS at DET ($3,800): Like most of his teammates, Anderson is roping with 15 hits in the last seven games. Throw in a .392 wOBA in his last 52 plate appearances against righties and his price isn't too bad. Jaye may improve on his recent shelling against the Indians, but making it five innings is still a stretch for the youngster.

OUTFIELD

Carlos Gonzalez, COL vs. SD ($4,600): Gonzalez has finely come around this season after struggling to do much of anything before August. He's been one of the best bats against righties with a .593 wOBA and .485 ISO in his last 46 plate appearances. Jordan Lyles has had some success with the Padres, although he still has allowed six runs in two starts. He also has a massive .430 wOBA allowed against lefties this season.

Scott Schebler, CIN vs. PIT ($3,800): Here's my second play against Nova, backed by Schebler's .380 wOBA and .294 ISO in his last 63 plate appearances against righties. Nova isn't good against lefties with a .356 wOBA allowed and 4.69 xFIP. When the two met at the end of August, Schebler went 3-of-3 with a single, triple and home run.

Keon Broxton, MIL at MIA ($3,100): Broxton comes on the cheap because the Brewers have been brutal. He at least has a solid .392 wOBA in his last 26 plate appearances against lefties. As for Adam Conley, he's not a big strikeout guy, has given up five homers in his last three starts and has a 5.72 xFIP against righties.
