How do I update the projections/depth charts?

The projections/depth charts can be updated online through the draft software.

Click on Projections --> Update Projections from the top main menu. This will bring up a window which will allow you to update the projections and the depth charts which are displayed in the software. This window will also tell you what date the projections are updated through. Follow the instructions on this window to either update the projections/depth charts online or download a file to update the projections. The depth charts can only be updated through the online process. You must have a paid subscription to RotoWire.com in order to update your projections and depth charts.

Can I transfer my drafts/auctions to another computer?

Yes it is possible to transfer all of your drafts/auctions to another computer. The first step is to create a draft export file on the original computer. Select Export --> Draft Export File from the top main menu. This will bring up a window where you can select the location of the export file on your computer. Click the 'Export' button to create the file, which will be called [name of your league]_export.csv. Transfer this file to the other computer. Install the RotoWire Baseball Software on the second computer, open up any draft/auction and select File --> Import Draft. This will open window which will allow you to find the import file that was created on the original computer. Highlight this file and click the 'Import' button. After the draft/auction is imported then select File --> Open Draft to open the imported draft/auction.

Will the software work on Macs?

Unfortunately, our draft software is only compatible with Windows operating systems at this time.

Can I change the dollar values?

You can't edit the dollar values directly because they are generated based on a formula. However, you can change many settings that will modify the dollar values. Read Adjusting Dollar Values in the help file to learn more.

My grids do not have scroll bars. How do I fix that?

This occurs on computer which are using a higher than normal DPI setting for their displays. Use the following steps to lower the DPI setting on your computer:

1. Right-click on your desktop and select "Properties"

2. Click on the "Settings" tab.

3. Click the "Advanced" button.

4. Change the DPI Setting to "Normal size (96 DPI)".

For Windows 7 users:

1. Right-click on your desktop and select "Personalize"

2. Click on the "Display" link in the bottom left corner

3. Click the "Smaller - 100%" option

4. Click the "Apply button

You'll likely have to log off of your computer and log back on for changes to take affect.

Open your draft software again and see if the scroll bars appear in the grids. There have been a very few instances where a user had to select "Customize DPI" and set it to lower than 96 DPI, but using "Normal size" should work.

The installation process won't work or gives me an error.

There are a few reasons why the software won't install.

-The software is not Mac compatible. It will not install if you are on a Mac.
-You are not the administrator or do not have administrator rights on your computer.
-If you are running Windows Vista or Windows 7 then you may need to right click on the installation program and select "Run as Administrator". -Depending on your security settings, the setup.exe program may not auto-start. If you get an error that says something like "could not locate setup.exe", then this is the issue. To work around this issue you should download all of the installation files using this URL:

http://www.rotowire.com/draft/mlb/rotowirebaseballsoftware2013.zip

Download the .zip file to your computer and extract all of the files to an EMPTY folder, DO NOT unzip the files to your desktop. Find that folder on your computer and double-click on the setup.exe file to begin installation. Do not extract the files to your desktop.

I get a "Database Not Found" error when I start the software.

This error occurs if there is not a players.mdb file in the same folder as the software. Make sure that this file exists and is named players.mdb.

I don't have any dollar values showing up.

This may happen if you do not have your computer Regional and Language settings set to "English". If the numbers in the software use a comma instead of a decimal point then the software will not work. You will also get a database error while trying to update the Category Targets if this is the case.

There are players missing from the free agent lists.

If you are looking at a position list such as first base, then it's likely that the guy you are looking for does not qualify at that position according to your games played rule. For example, if a player played 17 games at first base in 2009 and you have a 20 game minimum then he will not show up if you use the first base filter. If you are looking for minor league players to show up in the position lists then click on Edit -- Draft/Auction Settings to open the Draft Setup window. Click on the Eligibility Options button and check the "List players with no major league games played at their set position" checkbox. This will allow players with fewer games played than your league minimum appear in position lists.

How do I print dollar values and results?

While there isn't a way to print directly from the draft software, you can easily print these items from any spreadsheet software. Here's how you do it:

1) Select "Export" from the top menu, then select the data that you want to print. If you want to print the dollar values then select "Hitting Projections" or "Pitching Projections".

2) Select a location on your computer where you want the data saved and click the "Export" button.

This will save your data in comma delimited format as a .csv file. You can open this file in just about any spreadsheet software, including excel. Once you have it opened in a spreadsheet then it's fairly easy to print from there.
