Recent Blog Post: Russell Martin M.I.A.
What happened to Russell Martin? He was good at one point, right? When did he start sucking so bad? He was downright awful in the NLCS -- at bat and behind the plate. Hey Russ, stop trying to hit a home run on every swing. And learn to block a ball in the dirt, please. I'm not blaming the Dodgers' stinkfest solely on him, but he earned his share and then some. That was gross to watch. And why did Joe Torre continue to bat him fourth? Congrats to the Phils.

RotoWire Update Recommendation
Xavier Paul (OF)  LA  11/20/2009
Paul (leg) has been activated from the 60-day DL. In the best-case scenario, Paul will be a fifth outfielder for the Dodgers in 2010. Look elsewhere if you're trying to scrape up at-bats from an outfield option on draft day.
Kenley Jansen (P)  LA  11/19/2009
Jansen's contract was purchased by the Dodgers on Thursday. A bit of a surprise. Jansen's pro experience consists of a grand total of 11.2 innings, but the converted catcher struck out 19 (and walked 11) in that time, so we'll give Logan White and his staff the benefit of the doubt here.
Trayvon Robinson (OF)  LA  11/19/2009
Robinson's contract was purchased by the Dodgers on Thursday. The toolsy outfielder had an .866 OPS and 47 stolen bases between the High-A and Double-A levels in 2009. He'll likely open back in Double-A, but the tools were sufficient for the Dodgers to burn a 40-man roster spot.
Ivan DeJesus (SS)  LA  11/19/2009
DeJesus' contract was purchased by the Dodgers on Thursday. The move protects DeJesus from being selected in next month's Rule 5 draft. He could be in line for time at second base this season, but expecdt the 22-year-old to begin the season in Triple-A after missing most of 2009 with a broken leg.
Russell Martin (C)  LA  11/15/2009
Martin batted a disappointing .250/.352/.329 in 2009, the second consecutive season his OPS has experienced a drop-off. Compared to 2007, Martin's home runs dropped from 19 to seven and stolen bases from 21 to 11. Still, he's just 26 and should be considered a borderline top-10 catcher headed into 2010.
Mark Loretta (2B)  LA  11/15/2009
Loretta batted just .232/.309/.276 in 181 at-bats for the Dodgers this season. At age 38, Loretta's career may be at an end. He'll at least get an invite to spring training, but whatever fantasy value he once had is in the distant past.
James Loney (1B)  LA  11/15/2009
Loney finished with a .281/.357/.399 line, including 13 homers and 90 RBIs. The homers and RBI were identical to the marks Loney recorded in 2008. Four of Loney's home runs came in the month of September, giving us at least some hope of a mini power surge next year.
Hiroki Kuroda (P)  LA  11/15/2009
Kuroda finished 8-7 with a 3.76 ERA, but was limited to just 117.1 innings due to oblique, concussion, and neck injuries. A healthy Kuroda has proven himself to be a solid No. 3 starter, and that's what the Dodgers will hope to get in 2010. He'll return as a member of the rotation and is a late-round option in 12-team mixed leagues.

RotoWire Update
LA  9/30/2007
Owner Frank McCourt announced that both General Manager Ned Colletti and manager Grady Little would return for the 2008 season, the Dodgers official site reports. There was a rumor going around that Little would be the fall guy for the team's September collapse, but McCourt opted for stability.
