Walter McCarty

McCarty is usually sent in off the bench to provide an offensive spark. McCarty is somewhat of a tweener, as he is 6-10 but plays like a small forward and loves to jack up threes. Coaches insert him at power forward at times, and while he may stretch the defense with his shooting, he is a liability on defense. Most power forwards will have their way with him down low.

McCarty will be the Celtics' sixth man in 2003-04. He is probably more valuable to Boston than he would be for any other team, which is why he was immediately signed by newly crowned President of Basketball Operations, Danny Ainge. He plays excellent defense, runs the floor well and hits HUGE shots. He fits the teams new style of getting up and down the court very nicely.
