ANALYSIS
In July, the veteran forward had been included in the deal that sent Sebastian Telfair and Craig Smith from Minnesota to Los Angeles in exchange for Quentin Richardson. Madsen has always been a favorite of coaching staffs around the league so don't be surprised to see him back on the end of someone's bench when the season opens in October.

Madsen will return in a reserve role and won't get many minutes off the bench. He'll be relied on as a clubhouse leader as one of the few experienced veterans on the club, but he could be traded with just two years left on his contract.
Madsen didn't get many minutes as a defensive specialist/hustle player when Minnesota was in the playoff hunt. Now that the T-Wolves are in a rebuilding mode, his playing time will be even less and he's likely to be traded or even released. He'll miss the first month or so after offseason shoulder surgery.
"Mad Dog" will come off the bench and provide a defensive spark for the T-Wolves, but won't get enough minutes for viable fantasy value in most leagues even with the T-Wolves desperate for rebounding help.
Madsen will come off the bench and provide a defensive spark for the T-Wolves, but won't get enough minutes for viable fantasy value in most leagues.
Madsen provided Minnesota with energy and defense off the bench, but doesn't get enough minutes to help a fantasy team. He can be good in spurts when filling in for an injured starter, however.
Madsen will be a limited role player at forward for the T-Wolves and will likely see even fewer minutes than he had with the Lakers. If the T-Wolves win the NBA Championship, they know who to run out as their mascot.
