Joining the Rockets as a part of the Omri Casspi and Omer Asik trade, Hopson brings a minuscule amount of NBA experience to the team. After extended time in the NBA D-League last season, Hopson eventually got his NBA call-up, and the Cleveland Cavaliers signed him for the rest of the season. He would end up only playing in two games, where he averaged 0.5 points, zero rebounds, 0.5 assists, and 0.5 steals in four minutes per game. It's highly unlikely Hopson ends up making the team, with multiple better options on the Rockets and a roster maximum that limits how many players can stay signed, but if he were to get a shot, he'd find himself buried deep on the backup shooting guard depth chart behind the likes of Jason Terry, Troy Daniels, Francisco Garcia, and Nick Johnson. He'll be a good bet to end up landing in the D-League, whether that's during his time on the Rockets or as a free agent.
