Re-signs with Magic

Rudez re-signed with the Magic on Thursday to a non-guaranteed contract, Josh Robbins of the Orlando Sentinel reports.
ANALYSIS
In his first season with Orlando, Rudez struggled to see the court, playing in just 45 games overall. That translated to averages of just 1.8 points across 7.0 minutes per contest, which kept him far off the fantasy radar. While Rudez has the ability to play both forward positions, the Magic brought in Jonathan Isaac and Marreese Speights this offseason, which throws even more roadblocks in Rudez's way for potential playing time. His contract is reportedly not guaranteed, meaning he'll have to fight for a spot on the regular-season roster throughout training camp.

Past Fantasy Outlooks
2015
2014
Rudez is entering his second season in the NBA and his first with the Timberwolves after being acquired in exchange for Chase Budinger in the offseason. Rudez had an up-and-down rookie season as he helped the Pacers by filling in for Paul George at small forward. When it was all said and done, Rudez only averaged 4.8 points, 0.7 rebounds, 0.8 assists, 0.2 steals, 0.1 blocks, and 1.0 three-pointer in 15 minutes per game. He has some shooting ability, connecting on 41 percent of his shots from three last season, but he will have a tough time getting minutes behind Andrew Wiggins, Shabazz Muhammad, and Tayshaun Prince in Minnesota. Rudez could emerge as a three-point specialist should the club search for one, but for now, he is not on the radar of fantasy relevance in most leagues.
Rudez was signed by the Pacers for one reason: to help with their three-point shooting. Indiana was ranked 22nd in three-point shooting last season with just 6.7 three-pointers made per game, so any assistance in the category will be welcome, especially considering that the team will be without leading scorer behind Paul George (broken leg) this season. Rudez has a steady track record of effectiveness behind the three-point line, as he converted 47 percent of his attempts over 36 games in Spain's ACB League last season. Mix that with a 50-percent success rate over 16 games of Eurocup ball, and it gave the Pacers enough to believe the 6-10 wing could translate his success to the NBA. It's unlikely the 28-year-old forward cracks the starting lineup, but he could eventually be used as a cheap source for three-pointers in fantasy, provided he earns enough minutes.
