ANALYSIS
Bogans hasn't played on an NBA roster since the 2013-14 season, when he appeared in six games for the Celtics. The 35-year-old will get another chance at making an NBA roster, after playing 12 years in the league. The NBA journeyman will first need to prove he is still capable of contributing at his age in Westchester.

As the oldest member of the Celtics, one has to wonder how the 33-year-old Bogans fits in the Celtics long-term plans. It would be surprising if he ends the year with the team.
Bogans appeared in just seven games last season and was decidedly underwhelming in all of them. We suspect retirement or a coaching offer in his future.

With the signing of Richard Hamilton during training camp, the Bulls decided to release Bogans. He should latch onto another team and serve in a limited bench role.
Bogans adds depth to Chicago's group of shooting guards that includes Ronnie Brewer and Kyle Korver. He only averaged 4.4 points and 1.2 assists last year with the Spurs, but his value comes more as a high-energy defender who can also shoot the occasional three.
Bogans averaged just 5.6 points and 1.0 assists last season and likely won't see much floor time with the Spurs. However, he'll probably earn a bench spot because he plays well defensively.
Bogans was the starting shooting guard for the first half of last season and despite a January move to the bench, Bogans still saw regular playing time as Orlando's best perimeter defender and played in all 82 games. He also proved to be an effective outide shooter, knocking down 148 shots from behind the arc. Bogans will begin this season backing up Mickael Pietrus, but expect him to see consistent playing time and even start a few games for Magic this year. Bogans won't put up huge numbers, but he doesn't turn the ball over and should be a good source of threes again this season.
Bogans will find playing time hard to come by this season as the Magic have a lot of guys they like ahead of him. He can score but is a bit undersized and can't shoot as well as the other swing players.
Like Ariza, Bogans has talent but is stuck too far down the depth chart to make a big contribution.
Assuming Bogans is re-signed, he will be a valued asset for coach Bernie Bickerstaff. He goes to the rim with reckless abandon and has improved his mid-range shot. He averaged 9.6 points and 3.1 rebounds per game in 24.2 minutes last season. But the amount of minutes Bogans gets for the Bobcats this year will depend on how well Kareem Rush and Gerald Wallace play. Bogans has the size and mental toughness to play small forward and shooting guard.
Bogans was a nice addition to the Magic in his rookie season in 2003-'04. He was able to average 24.5 minutes per game with 4.3 rebounds and 6.8 points. He will look to improve on those numbers this season with slightly more help around him on the court. Look for him to be used to defend bigger point guards. He may also see some time at small forward, but do not count on him to put up huge fantasy numbers, not quite yet at least.
Bogans, a 6'5" rookie guard out of Kentucky, will need to work on his outside game to succeed in the NBA. Bogans, a natural shooting guard, will likely be used to defend bigger point guards. He's a very solid player fundamentally, but he'll need to shore up his game before becoming a recommended fantasy selection.
