Anthony has signed a deal in Argentina with San Lorenzo Basket.
ANALYSIS
Anthony spent the 2017-18 preseason with the Bucks prior to being waived. The 35-year-old saw a dramatically diminishing role in the NBA over the past several years, playing fewer than 10 minutes per game since 2012-13. He's made the decision to continue pursuing professional basketball, however.

After spending his first six-and-a-half seasons with the Heat, Anthony was traded to Celtics in 2013-14. He then signed a one-year deal with the Pistons last offseason and followed it up by signing a two-year extension with the team this summer. Anthony seems to have found a new home with the Pistons, and while he performed well in limited action last season, averaging 1.8 points, 1.9 rebounds, and 1.0 block in eight minutes per game through 49 contests, there will probably be even less minutes available for Anthony this season. The Pistons couldn't figure out how to make the frontcourt tandem of Andre Drummond and Greg Monroe work, but that issue resolved itself when Monroe threw up a piece sign to the Pistons and signed a three-year deal across Lake Michigan with Milwaukee. Now, with Monroe gone, the Pistons are going to start firing on all cylinders running a legit Stan Van Gundy offense utilizing stretch power forwards like Ersan Ilyasova, Anthony Tolliver, and Marcus Morris in most lineups. The Pistons also signed Aron Baynes to be Drummond's primary backup, pushing Anthony to like seventh on the frontcourt depth chart. Leave Anthony on the waiver wire in all but the deepest of leagues.
After playing his first six seasons and winning two championship rings for Miami, Anthony was traded in the middle of his seventh season from the Heat to the Celtics. His status didn't change much with the move in geography. Since the 2011-12 season when he started 51 games and averaged 21 minutes, Anthony had not been a consistent member of the Heat's rotation. In 21 games with Boston last season, Anthony averaged 1.0 points, 1.5 rebounds, 0.1 assists, 0.1 steals, and 0.4 blocks in seven minutes per game. There's nothing to like about him offensively, but he's a rim protector who plays with great effort on the defensive end. Boston was bereft of a legitimate NBA center last season and are looking for one of several bodies to emerge in 2014-15. But it's unlikely they'll waste minutes on Anthony when the playing time can be used developmentally for Tyler Zeller, Jared Sullinger, or Kelly Olynyk. Anthony is in the final year of his contract, and the Celtics could use him as a trade asset later in the season.
Anthony only saw the floor in 62 games for the Heat last season but will stay around for another season with the only team he has been with his entire NBA career. He averaged career-lows in stats across the board, so he has virtually no fantasy value with the current roster for the Heat.
Anthony might wind up with the lowest average minutes per game of any "starting" center in the NBA - and that's if he hangs on to the job. He plays bigger than his listed size (6-9) and gives Miami a physical presence to match up with the likes of Andrew Bynum and Kevin Garnett, but at 20 or so minutes a game he won't generate numbers to merit a spot on fantasy rosters.
Being undersized (6-9, 245) Anthony makes up for his lack of size with his physicality and shot blocking. He averaged 1.2 blocks and 3.6 boards in just 19.5 minutes per game last year. Anthony lacks any real scoring ability, but could see some open looks with the threat of the Big Three lurking. Look for Anthony to compete for the starting job this year in Miami and hopefully improve his numbers.
Anthony averaged 1.4 blocks in 16.5 minutes per game last year. That's both (a) an excellent rate and (b) right in line with his first two years in the league. Unfortunately, it's about his only skill: even his rebounding rates (6.8 per 36 minutes for his career) are below-average for his position. He's tentatively slotted to start at center for the top-heavy Miami Heat. Even so, he's probably not rosterable.
Anthony had the most starts at center for the Heat in 2008-09, but his regularity in the starting five ended when Miami acquired Jermaine O'Neal. His game is defense. He's an excellent shot blocker, and could be an option if you're targeting that category. However, he won't get much more than 10 minutes a night unless O'Neal gets hurt.
Potential No. 3 center if he's able to impress enough during training camp to stick. Still, not much short-term upside here beyond some shot-blocking potential.
