Brunson has a career scoring average of 3.2 points in 337 games over a nine-year NBA career. He also played in the CBA and was interested in Temple's coaching job after John Chaney retired.
Brunson is a true point guard and if Luke Ridnour gets hurt, he could step in. However, Ronald Murray is the third guard for the Sonics, so Brunson isn't likely to see many of the minutes left behind by the departed Antonio Daniels.
Brunson played in only 17 games for the Bulls in 2002-2003, a spare part behind the Williams/Crawford duo. With Alvin Williams entrenched at the point in Toronto, and Milt Palacio slotted as his primary backup, opportunities for Brunson will be only slightly less limited this season.
