The Lakers waived Profit on Tuesday in order to make room on the roster for Ronny Turiaf, the Los Angeles Times reports.
ANALYSIS
Profit came to the Lakers from Washington in the Kwame Brown trade and averaged 4.2 points per contest in 25 games, but will not play again this season after suffering a ruptured Achilles' tendon. Turiaf, just six months removed from major heart surgery, is expected to stick with the Lakers to practice for a few weeks before being sent to the NBA Developmental League.
