The Bulls, who bought Robinson out of the final two years of his contract last season, will release him under the NBA's one-time amnesty provision, the Arlington Heights Daily Herald reports.
ANALYSIS
Although the Bulls are not in danger of paying a luxury tax, the move gives them some financial flexibility over the next season.

Past Fantasy Outlooks
2004
2003
Robinson is so far in the Bulls’ doghouse that it would take him a pick and axe just to make his way back to the surface. A bad back, upper respiratory infection, and strained groin contributed to his missing several games, but it was his general attitude and big mouth that made him a Did Not Play- Coach’s Decision is several contests. There will be several games during the year where he will go off and have a monstrous night, but don’t be fooled by those outings, because the next night it is just as likely that he will see just 2-3 minutes of action on the floor. The only reason the Bulls keep him around is that they don’t want to take the salary cap hit of releasing before his big money contract expires in two years.
Robinson complained about playing time last season, and then ran afoul with management in the offseason. He can shoot (49.2 percent) and plays good defense, but his attitude is questionable. The club signed Scottie Pippen, and will likely go with Pippen and Donyell Marshall at small forward. Robinson has one of the more expensive contracts on the team with three years left on it, but his role with the Bulls will be diminished in 2003-04.
