Chris Webber

Webber had his best statistical season since 2003 last year, and purely off his numbers (20.2 ppg, 9.9 rpg, 3.4 apg, 1.4 spg, .8 bpg) he would be worthy of consideration in the first couple rounds of fantasy drafts. But age (33) and a history of injuries (including microfracture knee surgery in 2003) make Webber a very risky player to draft. Webber enjoyed surprisingly good health last season by playing in 75 games, but that was only the third time in a 14 year career that Webber has played that many games (his career-high is 76 games). Considering that from 2001 until 2005 he never missed fewer than 15 games in a season (and missed 49 in 2003-04) it’s hard to depend on getting Webber’s production for a full season, and that pushes him further down the draft than his pure numbers would suggest.
