FanDuel NBA: Wednesday Value Picks

FanDuel NBA: Wednesday Value Picks

This article is part of our FanDuel NBA series.

This article will take a look at players who are undervalued and worthy of consideration for your Wednesday night FanDuel lineup. Value options could be players with minimum-priced salaries, players in the $7-$9,000 range, or anything in between. It's easy to peg players like LeBron James or Anthony Davis, but the key is to find value players to plug alongside those superstars.

Point Guard

Ty Lawson, $8900 – The early line set for this game came out with an over/under of 216, easily the highest for Wednesday night's slate of games. And there are a few other factors working in Lawson's favor tonight. Lawson will go up against Rajon Rondo, and while Rondo's defense has improved, he'll still have trouble containing the Nuggets point guard. Lawson hasn't had to play since Friday, giving him plenty of rest, while the Mavericks are playing their second game in as many nights. The price isn't cheap here, but Lawson is still costs less than six other options at the point. He has scored at least 30 fantasy points in nine straight games. Look for him to make it 10 in a row tonight.

Derrick Rose, $6600 – The Bulls were beat quite easily by the Wizards on Friday night, a matchup that saw Rose and John Wall go head-to-head. Expect the two competitors to be back at it tonight. Wall is the better player overall, but I'm targeting Rose in this matchup due to his price tag being $3,000 cheaper than the Wizards star point guard. Rose has scored at least 30 fantasy points in four of his last eight games and he should see 30-plus minutes of playing time Wednesday night.

Shooting Guard

Devyn Marble, $3700 – Who? Marble is a rookie out of Iowa who has made the transition from playing guard in college to small forward in the NBA. He's filled in adequately for Tobias Harris (ankle) over the past two games, racking up 22 and 22.6 fantasy points in two starts with Harris out. Marble hasn't scored a ton of points, but his ability to contribute in multiple categories has put him on the fantasy radar. Most notable is his eight steals over the last two games, accounting for 16 fantasy points. Consider using Marble as a punt play if Harris and Evan Fournier are ruled out for Wednesday's game.

Small Forward

Jae Crowder, $4600 – Crowder will likely be the most owned player in cash games today, as he's coming off a career-high 42.1 fantasy points. He's the type of player that should be owned in all cash games, as it's not worth risking fading him in those contests. Fading Crowder in GPPs, however, would make a ton of sense since he could score 15 fantasy points or less. His matchup with Hawks isn't great, as he'll likely be matched up with a rested DeMarre Carroll, but Crowder's ability to put up stats across the board puts him in play, especially at this price.

Michael Kidd-Gilchrist, $5700 –MKG has quietly taken his game to the next level and he has established a nice floor, especially for his cost. Kidd- Gilchrist has scored at least 20 fantasy points in seven of his last eight games and four of those contests saw him eclipse the 27-point mark. He's turning into one of the better rebounding small forwards in the league, as evident by his four double-doubles in the last six contests. San Antonio is playing the second half of a back-to-back, so it's likely the Spurs rest some of their starters. Going up against San Antonio's "B" team should only help Kidd-Gilchrist's value.

Power Forward

Jared Sullinger, $6700 – The problem DFS players have with Sullinger isn't his talent, it's that he never seems to get more than 30 minutes per game. He's put together some monster lines lately, scoring 40 or more fantasy points in four of his last eight games. With Jeff Green out of town, the Celtics will rely on Sullinger to score more, and his ability to rack up some steals and blocks every game also helps his value. Sullinger managed 32.3 fantasy points in a previous meeting with the Hawks this season, a number he should be able to approach again Wednesday night.

Center

Jonas Valanciunas, $6600 – By now, it's common knowledge that starting big men against the lowly 76ers is a good place to start with your daily lineup. Philadelphia has been victimized by big men all season, the latest being Al Horford and his triple-double Wednesday night. Valanciunas has looked fantastic over the past week, scoring 31 or more fantasy points in three of his last four games. If there's any reason to pump the brakes here, it's the possibility of a blowout. Still, if the game to get that out of hand, there's a good chance Valanciunas has already exceeded his value by the time the starters are pulled.

Hassan Whiteside, $5200 – The price has come up on the big Miami center and rightfully so. Despite not logging a ton of court time – he hasn't topped 29 minutes yet -- Whiteside has scored at least 22 fantasy points over his last seven games. While he was supposed to start the second half against the Lakers last night but didn't, he still finished with 35.8 fantasy points. Whiteside has been flirting with a double-double on a nightly basis while also providing a ton of blocks. An up-tempo game tonight against Golden State should help his value even more. Look for Whiteside and Crowder to be two most heavily owned players for Wednesday's slate.
