FanDuel NBA: Sunday Value Plays

FanDuel NBA: Sunday Value Plays

This article is part of our FanDuel NBA series.

With nine games on tap this Sunday, there's a good mix of studs and bargains to roll into your fantasy lineups on FanDuel. There are a slew of opportunities at both guard spots, which should help you build good value throughout the rest of your FanDuel lineup. Let's take a look at Sunday's value plays.

Sunday Value Plays

Point Guard

D.J. Augustin, DET, $7,200 - This is probably the last time you'll see Augustin at this price point going forward. He's clearly established himself as a reliable fantasy option, averaging 21.8 points per game and 10.5 assists over the past week. Augustin has been performing at a top-tier level since Brandon Jennings left the starting lineup. In terms of price comparison, Augustin is still going for around $2,000 less than the other top point guard options. Don't expect that to last too much longer.

Ramon Sessions, SAC, $3,500 - Sessions becomes a top value for play at the lowest price you can get on FanDuel. Darren Collison is likely to be out again Sunday due to a hip flexor strain. Sessions didn't post an exciting line Saturday against the Jazz, but still managed double-digits in points with five assists. This is an opportunity to add good value for a great price, and getting Sessions for the minimum should help you create lineup flexibility at other positions.

Shooting Guard

Wayne Ellington, LAL, $5,000 - Ellington has taken advantage of the scoring void that was left by Kobe Bryant and has doubled his shot attempts in the last two weeks (15.0 field goal attempts per game) while increasing his scoring average by the same ratio in that span (16.7 points per game). He also recently had back-to-back scoring performances of 23 points or more against two of the better defensive teams in the league in Chicago and Washington at the end of January. Ellington is worth the gamble at this price point.

Small Forward

Tobias Harris, ORL, $6,100 - Harris has been heating up as of late, averaging 25 points, 7.0 rebounds and 4.0 assists over past week. He followed up a double-double performance against the Spurs on Feb. 4 with 34 points and seven rebounds against the Lakers on Friday. Despite being known for defense, the Bulls allow 18.3 points per game to the small forward position, which ranks 16th in the league this season. If he continues at this pace, the price on Harris will continue to rise.

C.J. Miles, IND, $5,000 - Miles presents one of the best overall values on the board Sunday. He's been on a bit of a scoring binge of late, averaging 20.5 points per game over the past seven days. Miles looked very impressive Friday, turning in a 26-point performance while matched up against LeBron James, helping the Pacers end the Cavs' 12-game winning streak. Miles should take advantage of a plus matchup against the Hornets, who rank in the bottom third of the league in points allowed to small forwards. The price and the recent production make for one of the best value plays on Sunday's slate.

Power Forward

Markieff Morris, PHO, $6,400 - The defensive matchup alone dictates that Morris should be in your lineup Sunday, as the Sacramento Kings feature one of the worst power forward combinations in the league, ranking 26th in points allowed to opposing power forwards. His numbers have been fairly similar to Kevin Love and Paul Millsap, but Morris priced at least $1,600 less on FanDuel. You're better off taking the savings that Morris provides and spreading out those dollars elsewhere across your lineup.

Center

Timofey Mozgov, CLE, $5,500 - While Mozgov definitely isn't one of the sexier options Sunday, he does have the luxury of facing another frontcourt that is in disarray in the Los Angeles Lakers. Mozgov has managed to hit double digits in scoring in five of his last six games and has registered 11 blocked shots in that span. The Lakers are dead last in rebounds allowed to the center position at 15.5 per game. That number figures to be worse without Jordan Hill, who is out the lineup with a hip flexor strain. Mozgov has a decent opportunity for double digits in scoring and rebounding against one of the softest frontcourts in the league.
