FanDuel NBA: Tuesday Value Plays

FanDuel NBA: Tuesday Value Plays

This article is part of our FanDuel NBA series.

One of the best parts of participating in daily fantasy games is that you get to go through the fun process of selecting your team every day. Well, let me rephrase that: it is supposed to be a fun process, but that might not always be the case of late.

Is it just me, or is this new practice of resting players extremely frustrating even in daily leagues? I like to work on my lineup the night before and then tinker with it that day if my gut tells me to swap a player or two out for someone else. Now as I'm picking my team, all I can think about is what lopsided matchup could result in a bunch of players being rested. Heaven forbid if I want to play someone in one of the late games. It's now even to the point where the lowly Denver Nuggets are resting players! How is that even possible?

Luckily there are only five games on Tuesday, so that leaves for a little less "rest anxiety." Here are some bargains to keep in mind when you are hopefully enjoying crafting your lineup.

Point Guard
Alexey Shved, $6,000 :
Shved has seen his playing time increase of late, as he has played at least 32 minutes in three of his last four games. He has produced as a result of his increased playing time and has posted at least 29.3 FanDuel points in each of his last four games. The Knicks need offense, and Shved has responded by averaging 16.8 points over his last six games. Although Tuesday's game is against a tough Spurs squad, he should get plenty of opportunities to produce again at a decent price.

Shooting Guard
Tony Allen, $4,600 :
Allen has increased his scoring of late, averaging 12.5 points over his last four games. The bulk of his fantasy value comes on the defensive side, of course, as he has had at least two steals in four of his last five games. Although he is coming off of the bench, he has still been able to produce at least 21.5 FanDuel points in six of his last seven games. Tuesday could be another solid outing for Allen when taking into consideration his low price tag.

Marco Belinelli, $3,500 :
I'm going with a gut feeling on this one largely because of the matchup against a terrible Knicks team and Manu Ginobili (ankle) being out. In the last game when Belinelli played at least 25 minutes, he produced 29.8 FanDuel points. If you are looking for a very cheap option Tuesday, Belinelli might be worth the risk, as he could approach or surpass that amount of playing time.

Small Forward
Kawhi Leonard, $8,500 :
Leonard is certainly not a cheap option, but should be a safe bet to produce Tuesday as long as the Spurs don't decide to rest him. He only played 25 minutes in a blowout win Sunday against the Timberwolves, but still came through with 35.7 FanDuel points. This was actually one of his worst performances of late, as he has had at least 46.3 FanDuel points in three of four games before Sunday. The Knicks could be another blowout victim of the Spurs on Tuesday, but Leonard should still put up a great line.

Corey Brewer, $4,600 :
Brewer only played 17 minutes and produced 15.6 FanDuel points in his last game Sunday against the Clippers, but had posted at least 30 FanDuel points in the three games before that. The main reason for his success over that three-game stretch is that he averaged 24 points per game. The Magic are a poor defensive team, so look for Brewer to be able to put up solid production at a discount Tuesday.

Power Forward
Terrence Jones, $6,700 :
I'm a big fan of Jones, as he has been a pretty reliable option at a decent price for a while now. He has posted a double-double in each of his last three games and provides a lot of value in both steals and blocks. FanDuel participants have been rewarded with at least 30.4 points from Jones in five of his last seven games. Like Brewer, look for Jones to thrive against a poor Magic defensive squad Tuesday.

Center
Omer Asik, $5,200 :
Asik is a rebounding machine, as he has grabbed at least 11 boards in four of his last six games despite playing 30 minutes or less in each of those outings. He provides a lot of defensive production as well, as he is averaging 1.3 steals and 2.0 blocks over the last four games. While he has not scored more than 12 points in any of his last five, he has still been able to produce at least 27.2 FanDuel points in three of his last four. If you are looking for a cheaper option at center Tuesday, Asik just might be your man.
